My work takes place in the present moment, live, witnessed by an other, mostly through the medium of performance. Performance questions the masks of self and one’s behaviour in society. Stepping in and out of modes of being and thinking, it challenges the conditions by which we act in the world. It invokes self-criticism and awakens a capacity for present-minded attention (in contrast to the un-attention of habitual behaviour) thereby having the ability to strengthen consciousness.

It is being in the environment of nature, in the uncultivated wilderness, which stimulates these capacities for action to take place: Isolation, non-conformity and a nonself; and Awareness – the non-familiarity and constant change and freshness of the unknown environment. In its naturalistic tendencies, my work has pagan qualities. |
